 Summer Fun and Other News>>>

I began the summer teaching at Super Cool Summer School- ( In Larkspur- click on link to check out their FB page and see some great photos) This is an awesome camp and my 3rd summer there.

I had a very intensive, fun and rewarding month of creative bliss.  With four classes a day totaling about 60 kids-  We got busy making wonderful creations with both oven-baked clay, recyclables, beads, wire, and all sorts of trash-to- treasures that are transformable into beautiful jewelry and fantastical creations- sculptures, dioramas, games, fantasy worlds... The kids were truly free to explore their ideas and really develop their projects.

With imagination, an open mind, the handy glue gun, and some rockin' tunes to inspire, the classroom just hummed all month long with enthusiasm and exciting ideas. Lots of collaboration and sharing of ideas. Wonderful to witness friendships forging in the classroom.

Since summer camp ended and I have been in relaxation mode- rearranging my workshop, reading, hanging with the family and friends, celebrating birthdays and vacationing.
I am fully rested now and ready to get going on classes and art parties!

~I am happy to announce that two of my students won first place for their glasswork in the Marin County Fair this summer!!
Congratulations!! Always exciting to see student work in the exhibitions. Such a great experience for the students. So proud!

"Because art heals at the level of spirit, energy is involved. Perhaps the simplest metaphor for how art heals is that it frees our body's healing energy to flow."

  •  We've been having so much creative fun working with driftwood and wire inclusions. A lot of extra touches this past session. More dimensional projects and lots of added finishing to the pieces such as bead elements and poetry. Also, many students have taken my classes  repeatedly  and  I can see their creativity and use of materials expanding. It is super cool and very inspiring!
